Although a-cto has officially been providing SharePoint consulting services since 2006, our experience and relationships go back much further than that. Below is a sampling of our successful projects going back to 2001 when SharePoint was first released by Microsoft.

IMAG Consulting
IMAG Consulting is based out of New York, NY.  We assisted their infrastructure partner, Visual Technologies, with the planning, design and implementation for the Enterprise deployment of MOSS 2007.  We designed and developed a custom site definition used for all of their projects.  We also designed and implemented their intranet including their Information Architecture, Taxonomy, site hierarchy and implemented their HTTPS alternative access mapping for their extranet.  We designed and developed InfoPath browser-enabled forms for timesheet entries and expense reporting.  We designed and developed multiple SharePoint Web Services to extend the functionality of their InfoPath forms and workflows.  We assisted our Creative Design Team with the implementation of the WCM site for their public facing website.  Throughout this process, we transferred knowledge and best-practices to their infrastructure partner.    After completing the implementation, We trained their technical and non-technical staff on the use of their new intranet and extranet sites and MOSS in general.

Fox TV
Fox TV is based in Los Angeles, CA. This was a MOSS project for the Fox Networking, Operations and Engineering Group’s intranet site.  Along with their team, we were hired to design and implement a new SharePoint solution. At their direction, we designed a Proof of Concept, put together a prototype, and then worked with their internal staff to deploy our custom MOSS 2007 solution.  This project also required us to train their technical staff and provide knowledge transfer on support and maintenance based on best-practices.

Venice Consulting Group   
VCG out of Los Angeles, CA uses MOSS internally. We were asked to assist with the migration from the 2003 version to MOSS 2007.  We were responsible for designing the Information Architecture, Taxonomy and site hierarchy. We also designed and implemented our client and project site definitions, a number of browser enabled InfoPath forms and custom workflows.

One of our main responsibilities was to mentor and train their development staff on MOSS 2007.  We created a curriculum for the three day class and as of this writing, We've delivered it to 10 of our developers.  In addition, we also created and delivered training to our management and executive staff members.  We developed and delivered a presentation on SharePoint Workflows for the Southern California Architecture Group.

AVIVA Consulting Group            
At AVIVA, now merged with Neudesic out of Irvine, CA, we worked on a number of SharePoint 2003 projects including projects involved with deploying the AVIVA Control Environment for Sarbanes Oxley (ACE*S).  Our roles on these projects included Sr. Architect and developer.

Sybron Dental
For Sybron Dental based in Santa, Ana, CA. we were the Sr. Architect for a project to design and implement a hosted SharePoint environment.  In this role, we were responsible for the logical and physical infrastructure design to support a fault tolerant platform for the ACE*S product.

 
PacificLife
For PacLife based in Newport Beach, CA, we were the lead developer responsible for the design, development and implementation of a custom search solution on the SharePoint platform.  The solution provided a way to customize SharePoint Search features to combine results from all of their public facing web sites.

Microsoft Consulting Services
At Microsoft Corporation based out of the Irvine, CA office, we worked on a number of internal SharePoint 2003 projects as well as a number of infrastructure projects.  We were the Sr. Architect, Critical Situation Manager and developer responsible for the planning, design, development and implementation.

StorageTek
An IT storage solution company now owned by Oracle, we were the Sr. Architect and developer responsible for the design, development and implementation for a custom SharePoint Search solution.  We also provided architectural assistance to the internal staff on their SharePoint implementation including transferring knowledge of SharePoint infrastructure best practices, diagnosing and correcting issues related to performance and helping them to define and document development best-practices.  EDS brought us in to the account when they ran in to issues related to their implementation.  We worked closely with the EDS and StorageTek teams to re-architect their solution to provide a secure and viable solution.

Coors Brewing Company
For Coors, based in Golden, CO, we were hired by Coors to be the Sr. Developer responsible to design, develop and implement a custom SharePoint Search solution that allowed them to index files on servers, desktops and laptops.  The solution allowed their staff to specify keywords to search for in the indexed files.  Files containing one or more of the keywords were copied to a staging location and then archived.  This solution used the SharePoint Search Web Service extensively.

National Institute of Health
Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, the NIH hired us to be the Sr. Architect responsible for the planning, design and implementation for the IT Departments SharePoint Intranet.  We were responsible for defining their Information Architecture, Taxonomy, site hierarchy and providing external access for their vendors. We were also responsible for the design of the logical and physical infrastructure to support a fault tolerant environment.  We helped them implement system monitoring using MOM and the SharePoint Management Packs, helped them plan and implement their Disaster Recovery processes, as well as integration with Microsoft Content Management Server.  Throughout this process, we transferred knowledge and best practices to their infrastructure team.    After completing the implementation, we trained their technical and non-technical staff on the use of their intranet and extranet and SharePoint.

Progressive Insurance
Headquartered in Mayfiled Village, OH, we were hired to be the Sr. Architect responsible for the planning and design of their Enterprise SharePoint deployment for 30,000 users. We assisted them to define their Information Architecture, Taxonomy and site hierarchy and was also responsible for the design of the logical and physical infrastructure to support a fault tolerant environment.  We helped them plan their Disaster Recovery processes too. Throughout this process, we  transferred knowledge and best-practices to their infrastructure team.

Toyota Federal Credit Union
TFCU based in Torrance, CA, hired us to be the Sr. Architect responsible for the planning, design and implementation of their Enterprise SharePoint deployment.  We were also responsible for the design of the logical and physical infrastructure to support a fault tolerant environment.  Throughout this process, we transferred knowledge and best-practices to their infrastructure team. After completing the implementation, we trained their technical and non-technical staff on the use of their intranet, extranet, and public-facing SharePoint sites.
